CITIES miniatures Alexandria Vol.3

ALEXANDRIA

In this series of urban microcosms, I carefully observe and analyze Alexandria in order to gain a deeper understanding of its functioning, aiming to unravel the inner workings of this vibrant city.

Through the creation of miniature sketches and paintings, I engage in a creative exploration of the diverse elements that comprise its urban landscape. I seek to capture the essence of Alexandria’s urban landscape by deconstructing and reconstructing its structures, spaces, and places of social interaction.

The culmination of this process involves combining hand-drawn sketches created using Gouache and Aquarelle techniques to construct captivating and lifelike scenes directly inspired by the bustling rhythms of the city.

These scenes are then meticulously captured through photography and transformed into printed sets of postcards, which serve as a medium for others to interact and immerse themselves in the city’s ambiance.

Ultimately, this artistic endeavor serves as a means of fostering communication and exchanging diverse perspectives on Alexandria’s urban fabric.
